Virtues & Benefits
This hadith highlights the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ comprehensive approach to seeking refuge in Allah. By reciting this, we ask Allah to protect us from: * **Anxiety and sorrow:** The mental and emotional distress that often accompanies financial hardship. * **Incapacity and laziness:** The inability to work or strive for lawful provision, and the lack of motivation to do so. * **Cowardice and stinginess:** Traits that can hinder one from taking necessary actions or from fulfilling obligations. * **Overwhelming debt and subduing of men:** This directly addresses the fear of being burdened by debt and being controlled or humiliated by others due to financial struggles. The phrase 'qahr ar-rijal' can also imply being indebted to people who may then exert undue influence or authority over you.
