It's best recited after your prayers, raising your hands in supplication. Believe that Allah has the power to grant your request and that His provision is abundant.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua, as taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, is a comprehensive plea for financial well-being through permissible channels. It emphasizes seeking sufficiency from Allah's halal (lawful) provisions, thereby avoiding anything haram (unlawful). The second part, asking for richness through Allah's bounty, directly addresses the need to be independent of people and reliant solely on the Creator. This fosters contentment and reduces the anxiety associated with debt. By asking for this specific type of provision, we align our desires with what is pleasing to Allah, ensuring that any relief from debt comes through blessed and pure means.

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught his uncle Al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him) this dua, saying: 'O Abbas, O uncle of the Messenger of Allah, I grant you, I bestow upon you, I offer you assistance, I do for you: [recite the dua].' Then he said: 'If you say this every day, four times, then it will be sufficient for you for the worldly matters of this day and night.' [Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563].
