اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provisions instead of Your unlawful ones, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.
Allahumma ikfini bihalalika 'an haramik, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak
When to Read
This dua is profoundly impactful when recited daily, particularly after the obligatory prayers. It's a powerful shield against falling into the temptation and trap of riba-based debt, asking Allah to steer us towards lawful means and independence from needing anyone but Him. You might find yourself saying it more often during times of financial pressure or when faced with difficult financial decisions.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and a firm belief in Allah's power to provide. It's recommended to raise your hands slightly, as is customary for supplication, and to face the Qiblah if possible. Utter the words clearly, contemplating their meaning: the plea for lawful sustenance, protection from the forbidden, and contentment with Allah's bestowed wealth over reliance on anyone else. Making it a consistent habit, like after Fajr or Isha, solidifies its effect.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a direct plea for Allah's provision through lawful means ('halal') and protection from forbidden sources ('haram'), which crucially includes interest-based transactions (riba). By asking Allah to make us 'ghani' (rich or self-sufficient) through His 'fadl' (grace), we are seeking a contentment that makes us independent of people and their potential worldly gains or manipulative dealings often associated with riba. It's a proactive way to guard our deen and dunya from the corrupting influence of usury, fostering reliance solely on the Most Generous.

Narrated by Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): A man came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I cannot afford to pay off my debt, so help me.' He replied: 'I shall tell you some words with which, if you say them, Allah will help you to pay your debt, even if it were as large as Mount Sabyr. Then he said: 'O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provisions instead of Your unlawful ones, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need anyone other than You.' (Sahih: This narration is considered Hasan by many scholars, particularly its sentiment and application in supplication, and is widely practiced).
