O Allah, I seek refuge in You from worry and grief, and I seek refuge in You from inability and laziness, and I seek refuge in You from cowardice and stinginess, and I seek refuge in You from the overwhelming of debt and the subjugation of men.
Allahumma inni a'udhu bika minal-hammi wal-hazani, wa a'udhu bika minal-'ajzi wal-kasali, wa a'udhu bika minal-jubni wal-bukhli, wa a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dayni wa qahri-rrijal.

Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua, taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, directly addresses the root causes of distress associated with debt and poverty. By seeking refuge in Allah, we acknowledge His power over all matters and ask for His divine intervention. It protects against the psychological burden of worry and grief, the inertia of inability and laziness, the paralyzing fear of cowardice, and the oppressive shame of stinginess. Most importantly, it specifically shields us from the crushing weight of debt ('ghalabatid-dayn') and the humiliation of being overcome by others ('qahri-rrijal').
