Virtues & Benefits
This powerful dua, narrated by Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), is a direct plea to Allah for financial security through lawful means and independence from needing to beg others. It encompasses seeking protection from forbidden earnings and reliance solely on Allah's generosity. By asking Allah to suffice us with His halal provision, we seek a way out of debt that is blessed and pleasing to Him. The second part, 'enrich me with Your bounty, independent of anyone other than You,' fosters a sense of contentment and reliance on the Creator, which can ease the stress of dealing with difficult financial situations and creditors.

Al-Tirmidhi narrated from Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that a master (Mubattib) came to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, indeed I am worried about my sustenance.' So he said to him: 'Shall I not teach you words that you may say, if you were in debt like the mountain of Uhud, Allah would pay it off for you? Say: O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your bounty, independent of anyone other than You.' (Sunan At-Tirmidhi 3563, Hasan)
