Business & Work
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2708

O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the discontinuation of Your favors, and the passing away of safety You have granted, and the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that which incurs Your displeasure.

Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min zawali ni'matik, wa tahawwuli 'afiyatik, wa faja'ati niqmatik, wa jami'i sakhadik

Virtues & Benefits

This dua encompasses seeking refuge from the loss of blessings, well-being, and Allah's pleasure. When applied to difficult interactions, it means asking Allah to prevent the situation from escalating into something that leads to a loss of trust, respect, or a negative outcome (loss of favor). It also asks for protection against sudden, unforeseen negative consequences (sudden punishment) and ensures that your actions do not lead to Allah's displeasure. Essentially, you are asking Allah to smooth the path, protect your reputation, and ensure the interaction remains within the bounds of what is pleasing to Him.
