Dua for Divine Guidance in Delegating Responsibilities

Business & Work
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 925

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.

When to Read

This dua is beautifully suited for anyone feeling overwhelmed by tasks or facing a complex project. Recite it at the start of your workday, before a meeting where you need to assign tasks, or whenever you feel uncertain about how to best delegate and manage your responsibilities. It's about seeking Allah's blessing in both the knowledge of *what* to do and the ability to carry it out acceptably.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and focus. Imagine seeking Allah's help as you would ask a wise and loving mentor. Raise your hands in supplication if possible, especially during times like the last third of the night or after obligatory prayers. The key is not just the words, but the heart's reliance on Allah for wisdom and success in your endeavors.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua asks for three crucial elements for effective work and delegation. Beneficial knowledge ('ilman naafi'an) helps you understand your responsibilities and how to assign them wisely. Goodly provision (rizqan tayyiban) encompasses not just wealth, but also the resources and peace of mind needed to manage tasks. Most importantly, acceptable deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan) ensures that your efforts, including your delegation, are pleasing to Allah, bringing true barakah (blessing) and fulfillment. When we delegate, we're essentially entrusting parts of our work, and seeking Allah's acceptance on these shared efforts is vital.
