Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates two powerful requests. The first part, 'Allahumma barik li ummati fi bukuriha,' is a general supplication for the entire Ummah to be blessed in their early efforts, emphasizing the importance of starting work with sincere intention and diligence. The second part, 'Allahummakfini bihalalika 'an haramik wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak,' is a profound request for sustenance that is lawful and sufficient, leading to contentment and independence from relying on anything or anyone other than Allah. It helps one stay away from haram dealings and seek Allah’s provision alone.

Narrated by Safwan bin 'Assal (may Allah be pleased with him): He said that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'A traveler’s supplication is answered. The supplication of a parent for their child is answered, and the supplication of a person who seeks refuge in being safe from injustice is answered.' Then he said: 'O Allah, bless my Ummah in their early mornings.' And he used to send him in as a commander, and he was a merchant, and he would set out on Fridays (i.e. early in the morning). (Hasan). Another narration mentions: Safwan bin 'Assal Al-Muradi said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say, when a delegation came to him: 'O Allah, suffice me with what You have permitted instead of what You have forbidden, and enrich me by Your grace, so that I may not need the help of anyone other than You.'
