Source & Authentication
Rifaa'ah ibn Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: 'We were with the Prophet ﷺ. He ﷺ said: 'The most excellent earning is that of a man who earns by his hand, and all lawful dealings of buying and selling are lawful.'' (Sahih Ibn Hibban 4995, graded Sahih). Relatedly, when asked about the best earnings, the Prophet ﷺ mentioned trading and said: 'Allahumma barik li fi bay'i wa-shri li fi ribhi (O Allah, bless my trade and grant me profit in my dealings).' This specific phrasing appears in Sunan Ibn Majah.
