Narrated Abu Huraira: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'When one of you is invited to a meal and he refuses, he has disobeyed and, if he enters without permission, he has disobeyed. The worst food is that of the wedding banquet, to which those who are rich are invited and the poor are left out. He who does not go to the invitation has disobeyed Allah and His Messenger. And he who enters without permission, enters as a thief and leaves as a raider. And he who eats what he is invited to, but does not eat anything, has insulted the food, and he who eats it has followed the Sunnah, and has gained the reward. And he who does not drink (what is offered), has disobeyed.' Then he said: 'Allahumma at'im man at'amani wasqi man saqani (O Allah, feed those who fed me and give drink to those who gave me drink).
