Dua for the Host When Eating Their Food

Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2055

اللَّهُمَّ أَطْعِمْ مَنْ أَطْعَمَنِي، وَاسْقِ مَنْ سَقَانِي.

O Allah, feed those who fed me, and give drink to those who gave me drink.

Allahumma at'im man at'amani, wasqi man saqani.

Narrated by Miqdad bin Al-Aswad (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said: 'I came to the Prophet of Allah ﷺ and his companions were with him. He said: 'What do you think of the transgressors from among you?' They said: 'We consider them the worst of evildoers.' He said: 'By Allah, they are better than the insignificant ones among you. No one among you fills his stomach, while his neighbor remains hungry.' He said: 'I asked the Prophet of Allah ﷺ about the transgressors of the Arabs, and he said: 'They are the worst of evildoers.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what about those who are insignificant among you?' He said: 'Those who do not eat what they want, while their neighbor remains hungry.' He said: 'The Prophet of Allah ﷺ invited me to eat some grapes. He said: 'O Allah, feed those who feed me, and give drink to those who give me drink.'
