Dua for Remembering Allah's Bounty Before Eating

Before Eating
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 5409

Praise be to Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise, which is never insufficient, nor can it be dispensed with, nor can one ever feel independent of Him, our Lord.

Source & Authentication

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah is pleased with His slave who praises Him (i.e. says Alhamdulillah) after having a meal and after drinking.' (Sahih Muslim 2734) Another narration states: 'When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) finished his food, he would say: Alhamdulillah alladhee kafani wa awshani, ghaira makfiyyin wa la mawaddiyyin. (Praise be to Allah, who sufficed me and provided for me, though it is not sufficient nor can it be dispensed with. Praise be to Allah, abundant, pure and blessed praise, which is not sufficient nor can it be dispensed with, nor can one ever feel independent of Him, our Lord.) Sahih al-Bukhari 5409.
