The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Allah is pleased with His slave who praises Him (i.e. says Alhamdulillah) after having a meal and after drinking.' (Sahih Muslim 2734) Another narration states: 'When Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) finished his food, he would say: Alhamdulillah alladhee kafani wa awshani, ghaira makfiyyin wa la mawaddiyyin. 'Alhamdulillah hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubarakan feehi ghaira makfiyyin wa la muwaddadin wa la mustaghnan 'anhu Rabbuna.'
