Dua for Relief from Overthinking and Unwanted Thoughts

Anxiety & Distress
Hasan HadithMusnad Ahmad 1/391

O Allah, indeed I am Your servant, son of Your servant, son of Your female servant. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is ever effective. Your judgment of me is just. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or revealed in Your Book, or taught to any of Your creation, or which You have preserved in the knowledge of the unseen with You, that You make the Quran the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the banisher of my sadness, and the reliever of my distress.

Allahumma inni 'abdak, ibn 'abdik, ibn amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuk, 'adlun fiyya qada'uk, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsak, aw anzaltahu fi kitabiik, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqik, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilm il-ghaybi 'indak, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabi'a qalbi, wa nura sadri, wa jila'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
