Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) said: "When one of you sees a bad dream, he should spit to his left three times and seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan and from the evil of the dream (three times), and turn over on his side from the side on which he turned over (in the first instance)." Jabir further reported: I said to him (Allah's Messenger ﷺ): "Then what is the (form of) utterance?" He said: "You should say: Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min 'amalish-shaytani wa sayyi'atil-ahlam (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the actions of Shaytan and from the evil dreams)."
