Dua for Inner Peace and Contentment When Feeling Unfulfilled

Anxiety & Distress
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 877

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلاً مُتَقَبَّلاً

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and acceptable deeds.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

This is a beautiful dua to recite after the Fajr prayer, a time when the heart is often most receptive. You can also make this dua at any point during the day when you feel a sense of emptiness or unfulfillment, seeking Allah's help to redirect your focus towards what truly matters.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction. Imagine the meanings of beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds filling your life. Remember that Allah is Al-Aleem (The All-Knowing) and Al-Kareem (The Most Generous), and He answers the supplications of those who turn to Him.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua, taught by our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, encapsulates a holistic approach to seeking fulfillment. Beneficial knowledge guides us, good provision sustains us, and accepted deeds are the ultimate goal that brings satisfaction and closeness to Allah. When we feel unfulfilled, it's often because our focus has shifted away from these core pillars of a meaningful life. By asking for these three things, we are essentially asking Allah to align our priorities with His pleasure.
