O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and secure me from my fears. O Allah, protect me from before me and behind me, from my right and from my left, and from above me. And I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being taken from beneath me.
Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah. Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. Allahumma-hfizni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi, wa 'an yaminee wa 'an shimalee, wa min fawqee, wa a'udhu bi 'azamatika an ughtala min tahtee.
When to Read
This comprehensive dua is particularly potent when feelings of anxiety and distress arise, especially during times of political instability, social unrest, or personal hardship. It's a prayer for holistic well-being, making it suitable for recitation at any time, but especially beneficial in the morning and evening, as taught by the Sunnah for seeking Allah's protection.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincere intention and a humble heart. Focus on the meaning of each phrase, understanding that you are entrusting your affairs to Allah. Raise your hands as you normally would during dua, or place them on your chest to feel the sincerity of your supplication. It's encouraged to repeat it three times, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication encapsulates seeking the best of both worlds: 'afw (pardon and forgiveness) and 'afiyah (well-being, soundness in faith, body, and mind). By asking for protection from all directions and from unexpected harm, you are seeking comprehensive divine guardianship. This leads to inner peace by strengthening your reliance on Allah (tawakkul) and reducing fear and anxiety, knowing that He is the ultimate protector. It fosters a sense of security and tranquility even amidst external chaos.

Allahumma inni as'alukal-'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali. Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati. Allahumma-hfizni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi, wa 'an yaminee wa 'an shimalee, wa min fawqee, wa a'udhu bi 'azamatika an ughtala min tahtee.'
