O Allah, suffice me against them in whatever way You wish.

Allahumma-kfinihim bima shi't

When to Read

Recite this when you find yourself facing unexpected criticism, harsh words, or an attack on your character that leaves you feeling unsettled and anxious. It's particularly useful when the criticism feels unfair or overwhelming, and you need Allah's protection and intervention to grant you peace.

How to Read

When feeling the sting of criticism, find a moment of quiet, even if brief. Turn your heart towards Allah and sincerely utter this dua. Imagine Allah's protection surrounding you. Focus on the meaning: you are entrusting the matter entirely to Allah's wisdom and power, asking Him to deal with those who are causing you distress.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a powerful expression of tawakkul (reliance on Allah). By reciting it, you acknowledge that your ultimate protection and strength come from Allah alone. It shifts the burden of the situation from your own shoulders to His, granting you inner peace by entrusting the outcome to the One who has complete control. It reminds us that Allah is sufficient for us and will handle matters in the best way possible, whether through direct intervention or by strengthening our resolve.

Source & Authentication

Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) on an expedition, and the people of Al-Jurf were hit by a severe drought. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'The chiefs of the enemy are coming to you. So, say: Allahumma-kfinihim bima shi't' (O Allah, suffice me against them in whatever way You wish). The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'And the two armies drew near to each other, and the infidels came forth and called out to the people of Islam, saying: 'Come out to us, so that we may fight by mutual consent.' So a group of Muslims went out to fight them. In the battlefield, the Prophet (peace be upon him) went to the people and they were saying: 'Allahumma-kfinihim bima shi't' (O Allah, suffice me against them in whatever way You wish). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'O Allah, You are the Helper in hardship, and You are the Protector in this world and the Hereafter. Take back the enemy away from us...'.
