O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation: keep me alive so long as You know that life is better for me, and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me. O Allah, I ask You for Your fear in secret and in public. I ask You for the word of truth in times of contentment and anger. I ask You for moderation in poverty and wealth. I ask You for everlasting bliss. I ask You for the joy of my eye which never ceases. I ask You for contentment after Your decree. I ask You for a pleasant life after death. I ask You for the delight of looking at Your Face and the longing to meet You. I seek refuge in You from ignominious hardship and misguiding error. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are guided.
Allahumma inni as'aluka bi'ilmikal-ghaybi wa qudratika 'alal-khalqi, ahyini ma 'alimtal-hayata khayran li, wa tawaffani idha 'alimtal-wafata khayran li. Allahumma inni as'aluka khashyataka fil-ghaybi wash-shahadati, wa as'aluka kalimatul-haqqi fir-rida wal-ghadabi, wa as'aluka al-qasda fil-faqr wal-ghina. Wa as'aluka na'iman la yanfadu, wa as'aluka qurrata 'aynin la tanqati', wa as'aluka ar-rida ba'dal-qada'i, wa as'aluka barda al-'ayshi ba'dal-mawt. Wa as'aluka ladhdhatan-nazari ila wajhik, wash-shawqa ila liqa'ik. Wa a'udhu bika min dharra'in mudirratin, wa min dalalin mudill. Allahumma zayyinna bizinatil-imani, waj'alna hudatan muhtadeen.

Source & Authentication
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to a man of the Ansar (Helpers) who was asked how he conducted his affairs. The man replied, 'I say: O Allah, I ask You by Your knowledge of the unseen and Your power over creation: keep me alive so long as You know that life is better for me, and cause me to die when You know that death is better for me. O Allah, adorn us with the adornment of faith, and make us guides who are guided.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Learn these words, for indeed, the Prophet of Allah (referring to himself) taught them to those who seek guidance.' (Sunan An-Nasa'i 1309)
