O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the cessation of Your blessings, the reversal of Your protection, the suddenness of Your punishment, and all that displeaces You. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from distress and sorrow, from weakness and laziness, from cowardice and stinginess, and from being overcome by debt and being subjugated by men.

(Someone asked him): 'O Allah's Messenger! You often seek refuge with Allah from these six things.' He replied: 'Indeed, Allah's Messenger loves to seek refuge with Allah from these things.'
