Rabbana-ftah baynana wa bayna qawmina bil-haqqi wa anta khayrul-fatiheen

When to Read

This powerful supplication can be recited after concluding your obligatory prayers (salat). It is particularly relevant when you are facing a difficult situation, dealing with injustice, or seeking Allah's decisive intervention in a matter where you feel wronged or struggling against opposition.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction after your fard prayers, ideally after the tasleem (the final salutations of peace). Raise your hands in supplication if you are praying alone, reflecting on the weight of Shu'ayb's (peace be upon him) plea and trusting in Allah's perfect wisdom and justice. Believe that Allah, the Supreme Judge, will hear your call.

Virtues & Benefits

Reciting this ayah invokes Allah's attribute as 'Al-Fattah' (The Opener, The Judge). It signifies seeking Allah's ultimate judgment and fair resolution to disputes or challenges. When facing adversity or the stubbornness of people, this dua is a profound way to place your trust in Allah's plan and His perfect decision-making, seeking His opening and victory.
