O Allah, I ask You for all that is good, in this world and the Hereafter, that which I know and that which I do not know. I seek refuge in You from all evil, in this world and the Hereafter, that which I know and that which I do not know. O Allah, I ask You for the good that Your servant and Your Prophet asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from the evil from which Your servant and Your Prophet sought refuge. O Allah, I ask You for Paradise and that which brings one closer to it of speech or deeds. And I seek refuge in You from the Hellfire and that which brings one closer to it of speech or deeds. And I ask You to make every decree that You decree for me good.
Allahumma inni as'aluka minal-khairi kullihi 'ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam 'alam. Wa a'udhu bika minash-sharri kullihi, 'ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam 'alam. Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma sa'alaka 'abdika wa nabiyyuka, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma 'aadha bihi 'abdika wa nabiyyuka. Allahumma inni as'alukal-jannata wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amal, wa a'udhu bika minan-nari wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amal. Wa as'aluka an taj'ala kulla qada'in qadaytahu li khayran.
When to Read
This comprehensive dua is highly recommended to be recited immediately after completing the obligatory prayers (Fardh Salah). It's a powerful way to follow the Sunnah and ask Allah for the best in both life and the Hereafter, encompassing all aspects of our existence.
How to Read
After finishing your prayer and reciting the initial tasleem (saying 'Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatullah' on both sides), you can raise your hands slightly in supplication, as was the practice of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Recite this dua with sincerity, focusing on its meaning and seeking Allah's help. It is also beneficial to remember that sincere supplication is accompanied by belief and action. After making dua, it's essential to continue striving towards good deeds and avoiding evil.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua is a treasure trove of seeking Allah's favor. By asking for 'all good' and seeking refuge from 'all evil,' we are encompassing every aspect of our lives and the Hereafter. It teaches us humility by asking for what the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ himself asked for. It also directs our ultimate hope towards Paradise and its means, while actively seeking protection from the Hellfire and its causes. Finally, the request to make all decrees good is a profound acceptance of Allah's plan and a plea for its positive outcome, no matter the outward appearance.

The hadith states: 'Uthman bin Affan (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'There is no servant who says in the morning and evening: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka min al-khairi kullihi 'ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam 'alam. Wa a'udhu bika min ash-sharri kullihi, 'ajilihi wa ajilihi, ma 'alimtu minhu wa ma lam 'alam. Allahumma inni as'aluka min khairi ma sa'alaka 'abdika wa nabiyyuka, wa a'udhu bika min sharri ma 'aadha bihi 'abdika wa nabiyyuka. Allahumma inni as'aluka al-jannata wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amal, wa a'udhu bika min an-nari wa ma qarraba ilayha min qawlin aw 'amal. Wa as'aluka an taj'ala kulla qada'in qadaytahu li khayran.' (except that) he would be answered, and that his needs would be met.' (Sahih Muslim 1973). While the hadith text mentions 'morning and evening,' the comprehensive nature of this dua makes it suitable for any time, and its recitation after prayer is particularly blessed.
