اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى ذِكْرِكَ وَشُكْرِكَ وَحُسْنِ عِبَادَتِكَ
O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner.
Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatika
When to Read
This is a beautiful and comprehensive dua that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ would teach his companions, particularly after prayer. It's an excellent supplication to make just as you're finishing your salah, sealing your worship with a request for ongoing connection with Allah. You can say it after completing your tasleem (the final salutations of the prayer) or even before.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus. Imagine Allah (Glory be to Him) is right there, listening to your heartfelt plea. The beauty of this dua lies in its request for help – acknowledging that remembering Allah, thanking Him, and worshipping Him properly are blessings and abilities granted by Allah Himself. So, ask Him to enable you to do them.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encompasses the core of a believer's relationship with their Lord. By asking for help in dhikr (remembrance), we are seeking to keep Allah in our thoughts throughout the day, not just during prayer. Asking for help in shukr (gratitude) means we acknowledge all His blessings, big and small, and express our appreciation. And seeking help in 'husni 'ibadah' (worshipping in the best manner) means striving to perfect our prayers, our fasting, our charity, and all acts of obedience with sincerity and excellence. It's a powerful tool for ensuring our worship is accepted and that we maintain a constant state of spiritual awareness and thankfulness.

The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: 'No servant has performed Salah and then said, while concluding his Salah: Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatika (O Allah, help me to remember You, and to thank You, and to worship You in the best manner), but that his sins would be forgiven.'
