اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful (provision) instead of Your unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty so that I may not need to ask anyone other than You.
Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwaka
When to Read
This powerful dua is highly recommended to be recited after concluding your obligatory prayers, especially when facing financial hardship or carrying debts. It's a moment when your heart is often most receptive to supplication, making it an ideal time to turn to Allah for relief.
How to Read
After completing your Salah, while still seated in your prayer area, turn your attention to Allah. Recite this dua with sincerity and a firm belief that Allah is capable of fulfilling your needs. Raise your hands slightly, as you would in any dua, and beseech Him with humility and conviction. Repeat it a few times if you wish, focusing on the meaning.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua directly addresses two crucial aspects of life: maintaining lawful earnings and avoiding unlawful means, and achieving self-sufficiency through Allah's grace. By asking Allah to suffice us with His halal provision, we seek protection from falling into forbidden earnings. Furthermore, asking Him to enrich us with His bounty is a plea for independence from reliance on creation, fostering a deeper trust in the Creator. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his companion Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) when he was burdened with debt, indicating its efficacy in seeking relief from financial distress.
