O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my shortcomings and secure my fears. O Allah, protect me from my front and my back, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being struck from beneath me.
Allahumma inni as'aluka al-'afwa wal-'afiyata fid-dunya wal-akhirah, Allahumma inni as'aluka al-'afwa wal-'afiyata fi dini wa dunyaya wa ahli wa mali, Allahumma-stur 'awrati wa amin raw'ati, Allahumma-hfadni min bayni yadayya wa min khalfi wa 'an yadini wa 'an shimali wa min fawqi, wa a'udhu bi 'azamatika an ughtala min tahti
When to Read
This comprehensive dua is particularly potent when recited after completing the obligatory prayers (salah). It's a moment when our supplications are said to be closer to being answered. You can make it part of your post-prayer remembrance (dhikr) as a way to seek Allah's protection, well-being, and ease in all aspects of your life, both worldly and spiritual.
How to Read
After finishing your prayer and reciting the standard *athkar* (remembrance of Allah) like 'Astaghfirullah' three times and the *tasbih* (SubhanAllah, Alhamdulillah, Allahu Akbar), you can raise your hands (though not always necessary after prayer, it's permissible and can be a sign of earnest supplication) and recite this dua. Focus on the meaning of each phrase, visualizing Allah's protection and provision. Speak to Allah with humility and certainty, just as the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua encapsulates a profound request for comprehensive well-being. By asking for 'al-'afw' (pardon), we seek forgiveness for our sins, which is a primary source of ease and protection. 'Al-'afiyah' (well-being) is a vast concept encompassing freedom from all forms of harm, illness, and distress, both physical and spiritual. Seeking this protection for our religion, worldly life, family, and wealth covers every dimension of our existence. The specific requests for protection from all directions and from being harmed from beneath highlight the thoroughness of the Prophet's ﷺ guidance in seeking refuge in Allah's greatness against any unforeseen calamity.

Narrated by Abdullah bin 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both): He said, 'The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) never used to omit these supplications when he finished his prayer: "O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family, and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my shortcomings and secure my fears. O Allah, protect me from my front and my back, from my right and my left, and from above me, and I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being struck from beneath me."' (Sunan Abi Dawud 4882)
