The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) advised a man, "When you go to your bed, recite the verse of the Throne (Ayat al-Kursi) and recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas three times each. If you do this, Allah will appoint a guard for you and Satan will not come near you till you wake up." He also mentioned that he had never seen the Prophet (peace be upon him) read these surahs but he advised him to recite them. He also said: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'When you finish praying, do not hasten to finish by saying Salam like the two As-Sa'idi who used to finish by saying Salam quickly. You should say: Allahumma a'inni 'ala dhikrika wa shukrika wa husni 'ibadatik.' (O Allah, help me to remember You, to give thanks to You, and to worship You in the best manner.)
