اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا.
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provisions, and accepted deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
When to Read
This dua is ideally recited immediately after completing the obligatory Fajr prayer, before engaging in any other activity. It's a beautiful way to ask Allah to bless the entirety of your day, starting from its very dawn.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and focus after you have finished your Fajr prayer, often after saying the initial *tasleem* (turning left and right). It's a personal supplication, so you can raise your hands if you wish, though it's not a strict requirement for this particular dua. Ensure you understand the meaning of each word and imbue it with genuine hope for Allah's acceptance.
Virtues & Benefits
This powerful supplication encapsulates three fundamental pillars for a blessed life: beneficial knowledge that guides you, pure provisions that sustain you without harm, and accepted deeds that earn Allah's pleasure. By asking for these at the start of your day, you set a tone of seeking good in all aspects of your life, aligning your intentions with what is pleasing to Allah. This practice reflects the Prophet Muhammad's ﷺ emphasis on making the most of the early morning hours, seeking blessings from Allah from the outset.
Source & Authentication
Narrated by Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ finished the morning prayer (Fajr), while he was still sitting, he would say: اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا. (O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, pure provisions, and accepted deeds.)
