Virtues & Benefits

This dua teaches us profound patience and gratitude, even when faced with minor disappointments. This attitude reflects the Prophet's ﷺ teaching on contentment and refraining from criticizing food.

Source & Authentication

‘Amr bin Al-Harith reported that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: 'The believer whose food is sufficient for him, Allah grants him wellbeing in it. The believer who is hungry and then eats is the one whose is rewarded. The believer who is sick and suffers, then recovers, is expiated for his sins. The believer who dies in good health is the one who dies a martyr.' When asked about the meaning of 'The believer whose food is sufficient for him', he replied: 'The believer whose food is sufficient for him, Allah does not try him with hunger, nor overcook his food, nor let him be in debt. But if he wakes up in the morning and finds his food abundant, he says: 'O Allah, forgive me!' And if he wakes up in the morning and finds his food abundant, he would say: 'O Allah, forgive me, have mercy on me and join me with the Highest Companion.' (Sahih al-Bukhari 6137)
