Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: The Prophet (ﷺ) never used to do anything after the 'Isha prayer, or after the morning prayer, except that he would do ten units, or twenty units, or do a unit of prayer, or prostrate himself ten times, or twenty times, or make a supplication for the likes of that. And he would not do anything after the 'Isha prayer until he prostrated himself. He said: 'The night prayer is two rak'ahs, two rak'ahs.' A man asked him: 'What about the two units after the morning prayer?' He said: 'Those are like the two units of the morning prayer.' He said: 'And what is the supplication that he used to say?' He said: 'He used to say: "Subhanakallahumma wa bihamdika, ash-hadu an la ilaha illa anta, astaghfiruka wa atubu ilaik." [Glory be to You, O Allah, and praise be to You. I bear witness that there is no god but You. I seek Your forgiveness and turn to You in repentance.]' He said: 'This is the supplication that he used to say when he finished prostrating.'
