Dua for Reflecting on Allah's Blessings After a Feast

After Eating
Sahih HadithSahih al-Bukhari 5446

All praise is for Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise, such as suffices, and never leaves, and is never dispensed with, our Lord.

Source & Authentication

Narrated by Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Verily, Allah is pleased with His servant who eats and praises Him, and drinks and praises Him. Allah does not know how to inflict His servant with disgrace, nor how to afflict him with ruin, until he has need of the world's life and an ulcer from it (i.e. to suffer from it). When the servant says: 'Al-hamdulillahillahi hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubarakan feehi', Allah says: 'My servant has said: 'Al-hamdulillah hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubarakan feehi, ghaira makfiyyin wa la mawadda'in wa la mustaghnan 'anhu Rabbuna.' The angels write it down and seal it with them, and they do not ascend with it until Allah wills they ascend with it.'
