Praise be to Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise. [This sustenance is] indispensable, permanent, and that which we can never dispense with, our Lord.
Alhamdulillah hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubarakan feehi, ghaira makfiyyin wa la muwadda'in wa la mustaghna 'anhu Rabbuna.

Virtues & Benefits
This dua expresses profound gratitude, acknowledging that Allah's provision is essential and everlasting. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this supplication to express a level of thankfulness that goes beyond mere satisfaction, recognizing the continuous need for Allah's blessings. It reminds us that all sustenance ultimately comes from Him and that our thankfulness is a means to seek His continued favor and pleasure. As Allah says, 'And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, ‘If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]...' (Quran 14:7).

Narrated by Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet (peace be upon him) was sitting, and he was given two cups of drink. He drank one of them. Then he was offered the second one. He said: 'O Abu Umamah, why don't you drink?' I said: 'I do not desire it.' He said: 'But the people of the desert have not abandoned it, nor have the Arabs except that it has a good effect on them.' I said: 'Then give me from it.' So he gave me from it. Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: 'Praise be to Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise. [This sustenance is] indispensable, permanent, and that which we can never dispense with, our Lord.' When the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) finished his food, he would say: 'Praise be to Allah, abundant, pure, and blessed praise. [This sustenance is] indispensable, permanent, and that which we can never dispense with, our Lord.' — Sahih Muslim 2042 (similar wording to Bukhari 5446)
