All praise is due to Allah, [praiseworthy] praise in abundance, pure and blessed. Our Lord is indispensable, never to be bid farewell, and never to be dispensed with.

Narrated Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Prophet ﷺ, when he had finished his meal, would say: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ حَمْدًا كَثِيرًا طَيِّبًا مُبَارَكًا فِيهِ غَيْرَ مَكْفِيٍّ وَلَا مُوَدَّعٍ وَلَا مُسْتَغْنًى عَنْهُ رَبُّنَا (Alhamdulillah hamdan katheeran tayyiban mubarakan feehi ghaira makfiyyin wa la mawaddi'in wa la mustaghna 'anhu Rabbuna). And when he had finished his drink, he would say: الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي جَعَلَ فُلَانًا مَاءً عَذْبًا بِرَحْمَتِهِ وَلَمْ يَجْعَلْهُ مِلْحًا أُجَاجًا بِمَا عَمِلُوا (Alhamdulillah alladhi ja'ala fulanan ma'an 'adhban bi-rahmatihi wa lam yaj'alhu milhan ujajan bima 'amilu) - Glory be to Allah Who made it (water) fresh and sweet by His Mercy, and did not make it saltish and bitter by our sins.
