‘Amr bin Al-‘As (may Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: ‘Abdullah bin Amr (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: ‘The heart of the believer is between two fingers of the Most Merciful, He directs it how He wills.’ And he used to say: ‘O Allah, Controller of the hearts, make our hearts firm on Your religion.’ It was narrated that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to say: ‘O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and richness (of the soul).’ Another narration is: ‘O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, provision that is pure and deeds that are accepted.’
