O Allah, protect our migrants and refugees in every land, and grant them security, comfort, and tranquility. O Allah, be their Guardian and Helper, and admit them to Paradise and make them among its people.
Allahumma-hfaz muhajireena wa laji'eena fee kulli baladin, warzuqhumul-amana war-rahahta was-sakeenah. Allahumma kun lahum waliyyan wa naseeran, wa adkhilhumul-jannata waj'alhum min ahliha.
When to Read
This dua can be recited anytime, especially during times when you hear news of hardship faced by Muslim migrants and refugees. It's particularly poignant to make this dua in your personal prayers (salah) during sujood (prostration), or after completing your obligatory prayers. You can also make it during tahajjud (night prayer) or Qunut Nazilah (a supplication made during obligatory prayers during times of calamity).
How to Read
Recite with sincere intention and heartfelt conviction. Face the Qiblah if possible, and raise your hands in supplication, as is the Sunnah. Focus on the meaning of the words and embody the empathy and care for your fellow Muslims. Remembering Allah's attributes of Mercy (Ar-Rahman, Ar-Raheem) and Protection (Al-Hafiz, Al-Wakeel) can enhance the connection.
Virtues & Benefits
Making dua for others, especially for those in hardship, is a highly virtuous act in Islam. The Prophet Muhammad ๏ทบ said: 'The supplication of a Muslim for his brother in his absence will be answered. An angel is appointed to his side. Whenever he supplicates for his brother, the angel says: 'Ameen, and for you the same.'' (Sahih Muslim 2188). By extending this supplication to migrants and refugees, we are fulfilling the brotherhood of Muslims and seeking Allah's immense mercy for a vulnerable group, which reflects the compassionate spirit of our faith.
