It was narrated from Abu Usayd al-Sa'idi (may Allah be pleased with him) that when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) heard about the large number of the polytheists, he would say: 'Allahumma inna naj'aluka fi nuhurihim wa na'udhu bika min shururihim' (O Allah, we place You before them and we seek refuge in You from their evils).
