โœฆ

O Allah, we ask You to preserve for us our religion and our acts of worship, and to make us firm in our steps, and to grant us victory over our enemy. O Allah, and remind us to build Your mosques and maintain Your Book, and guide us to follow the Sunnah of Your Prophet, peace be upon him. O Allah, and make our lands and Your servants secure and tranquil, and forgive us and have mercy upon us.

Allahumma inna nas'aluka an tahfadha 'alayna deenana wa 'ibaadatanฤ, wa an tuthabbit aqdaamana, wa an tansurana 'ala 'aduwwina. Allahumma wa an tudhakkirana bi 'imarat masajidika wa siyanat kitabika wa an tahdina li-ttibaa'i sunnati nabiyyika salallahu 'alayhi wa sallam. Allahumma waj'al biladana wa 'ibadaka aaminan mutma'innan, wa an ta'fuwa 'anna wa tarhamana.

Face the Qiblah if possible, raise your hands in supplication as is the Sunnah, and be confident in Allah's ability to answer.

Virtues & Benefits

By making this dua, we acknowledge Allah as the ultimate protector of His deen and the heritage built upon it. It strengthens our connection to the past, fostering a sense of identity and belonging. Furthermore, it reminds us that the beauty we see in Islamic art and architecture is a reflection of the beauty Allah loves, and thus, striving for its preservation is an act of worship in itself. It fulfills the Islamic principle of protecting and cherishing knowledge and traditions passed down to us.

Source & Authentication

While there isn't a specific hadith for 'Dua for the Preservation of Islamic Art and Architecture', the sentiment is deeply rooted in the general supplications of the Prophet ๏ทบ for the well-being of the Ummah, the protection of faith, and the maintenance of places of worship. For instance, the Prophet ๏ทบ said: "When you see a person who is going to the mosque, bear witness that he is a believer." (Sahih al-Tirmidhi 309). This highlights the importance placed on mosques, which are often adorned with Islamic art and architecture. Our dua can be seen as an extension of these principles, asking Allah to protect these magnificent structures that serve as reminders of our faith and history.
