Dua for the Liberation of Occupied Muslim Lands

For the Ummah
Sahih HadithSahih Muslim 2627

O Allah, save the oppressed from among the Muslims in every place. O Allah, save our brothers in Palestine. O Allah, save our brothers in Syria. O Allah, save our brothers in India. O Allah, save our brothers in Kashmir. O Allah, make firm their footsteps and send down victory from You upon them.

Allahumma anjil mustad'afeena min ahlil Islam fi kulli makan, Allahumma anji ikhwanaana fi Filastin, Allahumma anji ikhwanaana fi Ash-Sham, Allahumma anji ikhwanaana fil Hind, Allahumma anji ikhwanaana fi Kashmir, Allahumma thabbit aqdaamahum wa anzil 'alayhimun-nasra min 'indik.

When to Read

This dua is particularly poignant during times of widespread oppression and injustice faced by Muslims in various parts of the world. It can be recited after obligatory prayers, during times of hardship, or whenever one feels moved to supplicate for the Ummah's well-being. Making it a part of your regular supplications, especially in the last third of the night, is highly recommended.

How to Read

Recite with sincerity, conviction, and a heartfelt plea to Allah. Remember that Allah loves those who call upon Him. Ensure your hands are raised in supplication, as this is a Sunnah practice. Focus on the plight of your brothers and sisters, visualizing their struggles and seeking Allah's immediate relief. It is also beneficial to remember the etiquettes of dua, such as facing the Qiblah, beginning with praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, and concluding with the same.

Virtues & Benefits

Supplicating for fellow Muslims, especially the oppressed, is a sign of a strong bond within the Ummah and a fundamental aspect of Islamic brotherhood. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: "The Muslim Ummah is like one body; if one part of it suffers, the rest of the body responds with fever and sleeplessness." (Sahih Muslim 2586). Making dua for others is also a powerful act of worship that can bring about immense reward and divine assistance. The Prophet ﷺ also said: "There is no Muslim servant who supplicates for his brother in his absence, but the angel says: 'And upon you be the like of it.'" (Sahih Muslim 2118). This dua specifically addresses the suffering of Muslims under occupation, seeking Allah's intervention for their liberation and stability.

Source & Authentication

The narration that best encapsulates the spirit of this dua is: 'Abdullah reported from the Prophet ﷺ that he said: "No Muslim invokes for his brother behind his back but the throne of the Lord shakes. And there is mercy for him and then he said: Verily, the throne of the Lord shakes for him, and the angels bear witness for him, and it is said: "Verily, it is accepted (from you) and I have granted it to him". And it is said to the man: "For you is the like of it."" (Sahih Muslim 2118, also Abu Dawud 1534, Ibn Majah 2893)
