O Allah, Revealer of the Book, Swift in account, defeat the confederates! O Allah, defeat them and shake them!
Allahumma munzilal-kitab, sari'al-hisab, ihzim al-ahzab. Allahumma ihzimhum wa zalzilhum.
When to Read
This powerful supplication is particularly relevant during times when the Ummah faces widespread oppression, injustice, or the machinations of enemies. It can be recited individually or collectively when facing overwhelming odds or when witnessing the suffering of fellow Muslims. Recite it during the day or night, especially in the latter part of the night when supplications are more readily accepted, and after obligatory prayers.
How to Read
This dua should be recited with sincere conviction and a deep sense of reliance on Allah. Call upon Allah by His attributes mentioned in the hadith: His ability to reveal guidance (Munzilal-Kitab) and His swift reckoning (Sari'al-Hisab). Raise your hands in supplication, as is the Sunnah, and beseech Allah with humility and earnestness. Focus on the meaning of the words, truly asking Allah to humble and defeat those who oppress and cause division within the Ummah. Ensure your intention is purely for the sake of Allah and the well-being of the Muslims.
Virtues & Benefits
This supplication invokes Allah's power against those who plot and cause harm to the believers. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ invoked this against the confederates during the Battle of the Trench, and Allah granted a decisive victory. Reciting it with sincerity can bring Allah's intervention to alleviate the suffering of the oppressed, bring an end to tyranny, and restore justice and peace. It reminds us that ultimate power rests with Allah, and He can humble even the greatest of adversaries when His faithful call upon Him.
