Glory be to Him Who has subjected this (means of transport) to us, and we were not able to do it ourselves. And to our Lord we are surely returning. O Allah, we ask You on this journey of ours for goodness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and make its distance short for us. O Allah, You are the Companion during the journey and the One Who takes care of the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardships of the journey, and from seeing a miserable sight in my family and property.

Ibn 'Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) reported: When Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) mounted his camel for the journey, he would glorify Allah (saying Subhan Allah) three times, then he would say: 'Subhanalladhee sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrineen, wa inna ila Rabbina lamunqaliboon. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fee safarina hadha al-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha watwi 'anna bu'dahu. And when he returned, he would recite these words and say: 'We return repentant, worshipping, praising our Lord, and celebrating His praises.' He would repeat this three times.
