أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّاتِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ

I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created.

When to Read

This powerful dua is particularly relevant when traveling to a new place, especially if you fall ill. It's a protection against various unseen ills and a plea for Allah's safeguarding. Recite it whenever you feel vulnerable, wake up feeling unwell, or are exposed to an environment that seems to be causing sickness.

How to Read

Recite this dua three times in the morning and three times in the evening. When seeking healing from an illness contracted abroad, you can also recite it specifically for yourself, or have a righteous person recite it for you, blowing gently onto the affected area or into water to drink. It's a plea that stems from acknowledging Allah's complete power and protection.

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that a man came to the Prophet (ﷺ) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, what have I encountered from the scorpion that stung me last night?' He said: 'If you had said, when evening came: A'udhu bikalimatillahit-tammati min sharri ma khalaq (I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of what He has created), it would not have harmed you.'
