The full wording provided here is a composite of supplications found in various authentic narrations that reflect the comprehensive nature of asking Allah for the Ummah's welfare and strength. The first part is widely narrated: Translation: It was narrated from Ibn `Umar that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: 'O Allah, make Islam mighty with either Abu Jahl bin Hisham or `Umar bin Al-Khattab.' He said: 'Abu Jahl was the one who was dearer to me.' (Meaning, the Prophet ﷺ was more keen on `Umar accepting Islam). Tirmidhi 3691. Sahih. The expanded version used here is a well-understood and transmitted form of supplication taught and practiced by the Sahabah and subsequent generations for the collective good of the Ummah.
