Dua for Success in Overcoming Grief and Sadness

Success
Hasan HadithMusnad Ahmad 3703

O Allah, I am Your slave, son of Your slave, son of Your female slave. My forelock is in Your hand. Your command over me is inevitable. Your justice over me is assured. I ask You by every name that You have called Yourself, or that You have taught to any of Your creation, or that You have sent down in Your Book, or that You have retained in the knowledge of the unseen with You, to make the Qur'an the spring of my heart, the light of my chest, the remover of my grief, and the dispeller of my anxieties.

Allahumma inni 'abduka, ibnu 'abdika, ibnu amatik, nasiyati biyadika, madin fiyya hukmuka, 'adlun fiyya qada'uka, as'aluka bikulli ismin huwa lak, sammayta bihi nafsaka, aw 'allamtahu ahadan min khalqika, aw anzaltahu fi kitarika, aw ista'tharta bihi fi 'ilmil-ghaibi 'indaka, an taj'ala al-Qur'ana rabee'a qalbi, wa noora sadri, wa jilaa'a huzni, wa dhahaba hammi.
