Success
Hasan HadithSunan Ibn Majah 91

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا

O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and deeds that are accepted.

Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan

When to Read

This dua is excellent to recite when you are actively seeking a promotion, during times of effort related to your career goals, and even generally at the start of your workday. It encompasses asking for the right tools (knowledge), the right outcome (good provision, which includes career advancement), and the acceptance of your efforts by Allah.

How to Read

Make this dua with sincerity and conviction, raising your hands as is the custom for supplication. Focus on your intention for the promotion being lawful and beneficial. Believe that Allah, the All-Knowing and All-Powerful, can grant you success. It's best to say this dua after the obligatory prayers, or at any suitable time when you feel the need to seek Allah's help and guidance.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua covers three vital aspects for success in any endeavor, including a promotion: 1. **Beneficial Knowledge ('ilman naafi'an):** This refers to knowledge that is useful in this life and the Hereafter, enabling you to perform your duties better and make wise decisions. 2. **Good Provision (rizqan tayyiban):** This includes lawful income, opportunities, and the means for a comfortable life. A promotion is a form of increased provision. 3. **Accepted Deeds ('amalan mutaqabbalan):** This is the ultimate success – that your hard work and efforts are acknowledged and rewarded by Allah, both in this world and the next. This includes the work you do to earn your promotion. While this specific hadith doesn't directly mention 'promotion,' its components are foundational for achieving it through Allah's grace.
