O Allah, I ask You to enable me to do good deeds, abandon evil deeds, and to love the poor. I ask You to forgive me and have mercy on me. And if You intend to try Your creation with tribulation, then take me to Yourself without putting me to trial. I ask You for Your love, and the love of those who love You, and the love of any deed that will bring me closer to Your love.

Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'lal khayrat, wa tarkal munkarat, wa hubbal masakin, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fi khalqika fitnatan fa tawaffani ilayka ghayra maftun. As'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbika.

Narrated 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to supplicate: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka al-huda, wat-tuqa, wal-'afafa, wal-ghina.' (O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and richness). He was also asked about the best supplication, and he said: 'Al-du'a yawm 'Arafah.' (Supplication on the Day of Arafah). And he was asked about the best of speech, and he said: 'SubhanAllah.' (Glory be to Allah). And he was asked about the best deeds, and he said: 'Al-hadi ila as-sirat al-mustaqim.' (Guiding to the straight path). He also said: 'Allahumma inni as'aluka fi'lal khayrat, wa tarkal munkarat, wa hubbal masakin, wa an taghfira li wa tarhamani, wa idha aradta fi khalqika fitnatan fa tawaffani ilayka ghayra maftun. As'aluka hubbaka, wa hubba man yuhibbuka, wa hubba 'amalin yuqarribuni ila hubbika.'
