اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ
O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision in place of the unlawful, and enrich me with Your bounty, so that I may not need any from anyone else.
Allahumma akfini bihalalika 'an haramika wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak
When to Read
This powerful supplication is perfect to recite when you feel overwhelmed by societal expectations, the desire for material wealth that leads to unlawful means, or the pressure to conform to trends that displease Allah. It's particularly relevant when facing career choices, financial decisions, or social situations where integrity is tested. Make it a regular part of your morning remembrance (dhikr) or recite it before embarking on a challenging day.
How to Read
Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, visualizing Allah's sufficiency and bounty. Raise your hands, as is customary during dua, and focus your heart on the meaning. Ensure you are in a state of purity (wudu) if possible. Understand that this dua is not just about asking for worldly provision, but for the strength to remain content with what Allah has ordained and to avoid unlawful means, thus safeguarding your faith and character against societal pressures.
Virtues & Benefits
This dua offers immense spiritual and practical benefits. By asking Allah to suffice us with His lawful provisions, we are seeking protection from engaging in haram (forbidden) activities driven by need or desire. The second part, 'enrich me with Your bounty, so that I may not need any from anyone else,' cultivates contentment and reliance solely on Allah, freeing us from the anxiety of comparison and the need to seek validation or provision from people. This fosters inner peace and strengthens our resolve to follow the straight path, even when society pulls us in different directions. It's a shield against the ills of materialism and societal judgment.
