اَللّٰهُمَّ اَلِّفْ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِنَا وَأَصْلِحْ ذَاتَ بَيْنِنَا وَاهْدِنَا سُبُلَ السَّلَامِ وَنَجِّنَا مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَجَنِّبْنَا الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي أَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا وَقُلُوبِنَا وَأَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ وَاجْعَلْنَا شَاكِرِينَ لِنِعْمَتِكَ مُثْنِينَ بِهَا وَقَابِلِيهَا وَأَتِمَّهَا عَلَيْنَا.
O Allah, unite our hearts, and reconcile our differences, and guide us to the paths of peace. Deliver us from the darkness into the light. Keep us away from all shameful deeds, those which are apparent and those which are hidden. Bless our hearing, our sight, our hearts, our spouses, and our offspring. Accept our repentance, for indeed, You are the Accepter of repentance, the Merciful. And make us grateful for Your blessings, praising them and accepting them, and complete them upon us.
Allahumma allif bayna qulubina wa aslih dhata baynina wahdina subulas-salami wa najjina minadh-dhulumati ilan-nuri wa jannibnal-fawashiha ma dhahara minha wa ma batana wa barik lana fi asma'ina wa absarina wa qulubina wa azwajina wa dhurriyyatina wa tub 'alayna innaka antat-Tawwabur-Rahim. Waj'alna shakireena li ni'matika muthneena biha wa qabileeha wa atimmaha 'alayna.
When to Read
This is a powerful supplication that can be recited at any time, but it's particularly beneficial to make it during the times when duas are more readily accepted, such as after obligatory prayers, during the last third of the night, or on Fridays. Recite it with sincere intention whenever you feel the need to foster better relationships within your community, family, or among your friends.
How to Read
Raise your hands in supplication as is the custom. Face the Qiblah if possible. Begin with praising Allah and sending Salawat upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught this dua to his companions when they asked him how to ask for such blessings: عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَدْعُو " اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْهُدَى وَالتُّقَى وَالْعَفَافَ وَالْغِنَى " . وَعَنْهُ قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ أَلِّفْ بَيْنَ قُلُوبِنَا وَأَصْلِحْ ذَاتَ بَيْنِنَا وَاهْدِنَا سُبُلَ السَّلَامِ وَنَجِّنَا مِنَ الظُّلُمَاتِ إِلَى النُّورِ وَجَنِّبْنَا الْفَوَاحِشَ مَا ظَهَرَ مِنْهَا وَمَا بَطَنَ وَبَارِكْ لَنَا فِي أَسْمَاعِنَا وَأَبْصَارِنَا وَقُلُوبِنَا وَأَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا وَتُبْ عَلَيْنَا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ وَاجْعَلْنَا شَاكِرِينَ لِنِعْمَتِكَ مُثْنِينَ بِهَا وَقَابِلِيهَا وَأَتِمَّهَا عَلَيْنَا " .
