اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.
Allahumma inni as'aluka 'ilman naafi'an, wa rizqan tayyiban, wa 'amalan mutaqabbalan.
When to Read
This dua is particularly poignant when you see your spouse struggling with self-doubt, uncertainty about their path, or feeling inadequate in their efforts. Recite it during times of personal reflection, after prayers, or even as you see them facing a challenging situation. It's a beautiful way to support them spiritually, asking Allah to equip them with the inner fortitude to overcome their personal struggles.
How to Read
When making this dua for your spouse, you can either say it aloud with them present, or even silently while keeping them in your heart and intention. Raise your hands, as is the Sunnah for supplication, and pour your heart out to Allah. Imagine Allah's strength flowing into your spouse as you make the sincere request. Focus on the meaning, asking Allah to grant them beneficial knowledge that guides them, pure provision that sustains them, and righteous deeds that are accepted.
Virtues & Benefits
While this specific wording is a general request for beneficial knowledge, good provision, and accepted deeds, its essence directly supports inner strength and resilience. By asking Allah for these things for your spouse, you are essentially asking for the tools they need to combat doubt: wisdom to discern truth, lawful sustenance that brings peace, and the ability to perform actions that bring them closer to Allah and a sense of purpose. This, in turn, builds their confidence and resilience against the whispers of doubt.
Source & Authentication
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) migrated to Al-Madinah, he would say: 'O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, goodly provision, and acceptable deeds.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 925. Graded as Hasan by Al-Albani). This dua was a constant practice of the Prophet ﷺ, showing its profound importance in seeking Allah's blessings for all aspects of life, including one's inner state.
