اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِي بِحَلاَلِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ، وَأَغْنِنِي بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask from anyone other than You.

Allahumma ikfini bihalalika 'an haramika, wa aghnini bifadlika 'amman siwak.

When to Read

This powerful dua, while recited by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ for himself, can be made for your spouse. It's particularly beneficial during times of financial strain, career uncertainty, or when you see your spouse struggling with worldly anxieties. You can recite it after your obligatory prayers, during the last third of the night, or simply any time you remember your spouse and wish them well.

How to Read

Recite this dua with sincerity and conviction, focusing your heart on Allah's ability to provide and fulfill needs. Imagine yourself and your spouse enveloped in Allah's blessings, free from worry. You can raise your hands in supplication, as was the practice of the Prophet ﷺ, and place your hand over your heart while reciting it, or you can make it as a silent prayer in your heart. It's a personal plea to Allah, so tailor the intention to encompass your spouse's well-being.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua is a profound declaration of tawakkul (reliance on Allah). By asking Allah to suffice us with His lawful provisions, we affirm our commitment to staying away from haram. The second part, seeking richness through His grace, ensures that our contentment comes from Him alone, preventing dependence on others and fostering a deep sense of gratitude. When you make this for your spouse, you are essentially praying for their spiritual and material well-being, seeking for them a life free from the anxieties of unlawful gain and the dependence on creation, leading to inner peace and contentment.

'O Allah, suffice me with Your lawful provision instead of Your unlawful provision, and enrich me with Your grace, so that I may not need to ask from anyone other than You.'
