Spouse
QuranQuran 5:114

Our Lord, send down to us from the heaven a repast, that it may be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, for You are the best of providers.

Allahumma Rabbana anzil 'alayna ma'idatan minas-sama'i takunu lana 'eedan li'awwalina wa akhirina wa ayatan mink; warzuqna wa anta khayrur-raziqin

When to Read

This dua is recited by Prophet Isa (peace be upon him) when asking Allah for a miraculous meal from the heavens, as a sign and sustenance. While not directly about envy or jealousy, the concept of asking Allah for His blessings and protection from harm applies. Recite this dua with sincere intention when you feel a sense of unease or see signs of envy and jealousy affecting your spouse or your relationship. Make it a regular part of your supplications, especially during times of increased marital stress or when facing external influences that could breed such feelings.

How to Read

Recite this powerful dua with conviction and a hopeful heart. Raise your hands in supplication, as is the Sunnah when making dua. Focus on the meaning and ask Allah to bless your marriage, protect it from all forms of envy and jealousy, and provide for you both abundantly, both materially and spiritually. Believe that Allah hears your plea and has the power to turn hearts and protect your union.

Virtues & Benefits

This verse from Surah Al-Ma'idah is a profound example of turning to Allah in times of need and seeking His divine intervention. By reciting it, we are emulating the prophets' reliance on Allah. It serves as a reminder that no matter the source of envy or jealousy – be it from external factors, past experiences, or internal insecurities – Allah is the ultimate provider and protector. Asking for 'a sign from You' reinforces our desire for Allah's direct intervention and blessing upon our marriage, shielding it from negativity and fostering love and contentment.
