When to Read

This dua is powerful for rekindling a sense of purpose and joy in your spouse. You can recite it during the last third of the night, after prayers, or even during sujood (prostration) in your daily salah. Imagine your spouse feeling the vibrancy of life again, seeing blessings anew – this dua is for that. It's about asking Allah to open their eyes to the beauty and opportunities around them, making them appreciate the life He has given them. Recite it with sincerity whenever you feel they might be going through a phase of feeling stagnant or uninspired.

How to Read

Begin with sincere intention and focus. Raise your hands, as you would for any supplication. Start by praising Allah and sending blessings upon the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. Recite the dua with focus and conviction, visualizing your spouse's heart being filled with renewed enthusiasm for life and its blessings. You can repeat it multiple times for added effect. Remember that the sincerity of the heart is key. It's also beautiful to say this dua for your spouse directly when they are present, perhaps during a quiet moment.

Virtues & Benefits

This comprehensive dua, taught by our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, covers essential aspects of a fulfilling life. Beneficial knowledge leads to understanding and wisdom, good provision allows for sustenance without hardship, and accepted deeds bring closeness to Allah. By asking for these for your spouse, you are essentially praying for their holistic well-being and spiritual growth, which naturally leads to a renewed sense of wonder and excitement for life as they feel more connected to their Creator and purpose. This transforms mundane into meaningful. As Allah says, 'And whoever keeps his duty to Allah, He will make a way out for him. And will provide him with sustenance from whence he never came. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then He will suffice him.' (Surah At-Talaq, 65:2-3)

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to say when the morning came: 'O Allah, I ask You for knowledge that is beneficial, provision that is good and pure (tayyiban), and deeds that are acceptable.' (Sunan Ibn Majah 3843). In another narration from Sahih Muslim: Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: 'Whenever the Prophet (peace be upon him) performed the morning prayer, he would say: O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, good provision and accepted deeds.'
