Spouse
QuranQuran 5:114

Our Lord, bestow upon us from our Lord sustenance from heaven, which will be a festival for us and for those after us and a sign from You. And provide for us, for You are the best of providers.

Allahumma Rabbana anzil 'alayna ma'idatan minas-sama'i takunu lana 'eedan li'awwalina wa akhirina wa ayatan minka warzuqna wa anta khayrur-raziqin

When to Read

This powerful supplication is particularly fitting when a spouse is navigating a significant life transition – perhaps a new job, relocation, the birth of a child, or even a loss. Recite it with heartfelt sincerity during times of uncertainty or when seeking Allah's blessing and provision for a stable and peaceful outcome.

How to Read

Raise your hands in supplication, facing the Qiblah if possible. Recite the verse with clear pronunciation, reflecting on its meaning. You can recite it individually for your spouse, or together with them as a couple. Maintain a state of purity (wudu) if reciting, and ensure your heart is present and focused on Allah.

Virtues & Benefits

This dua, originally made by Prophet Isa (peace be upon him), is a profound request for divine provision and a sign of Allah's favor. When a couple recites this, they are seeking Allah's blessings not just for material sustenance but also for spiritual peace and a sense of celebration (Eid) in their current circumstances, viewing the outcome as a sign from their Creator. It fosters reliance on Allah and strengthens the bond between spouses as they face challenges together, trusting in His ultimate wisdom and provision.
